The Kern High School District's next new school is scheduled to open in August 2022 but the school does not yet have a formal name. Construction on the school, currently known as School #19, is scheduled to start in the fall of 2020 in southeast Bakersfield at the corner of Panama Ln. and Cottonwood Rd. Selection of a formal school name will allow for proper identification of the school in all plans, specifications and legal documents. A formal name is also an important first step toward the creation of a school identity, which will carry a great deal of meaning for the community and the school's students, staff, and alumni. […]
